NFP Success Launched at Not for Profit Leaders Conference

Sydney's Brighton Le Sands saw Alliancing Forums launch its first Not-for-Profit Leaders Conference. Held in July, NFP Success was a major sponsor to the conference which NFP Success' Senior Consultant and key note speaker Ron Palmer suggested "is all the more necessary as changes in the sector such as the NDIS, demand increased collaboration and knowledge sharing". Mr Palmer continued "as one of the few NFP consulting firms who deal exclusively with NFPs, we felt it was important to support the event as it serves to build a more cohesive and cooperative sector".

The Conference was attended by senior employees representing several community interest organisations spanning from Community Transport, Family, Disability and Youth Support to Multicultural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations. The forum sought to address how modern NFP leaders can manage constant changes in funding, do more with less, and stay on top of compliance and reporting requirements. According to NFP Success' research NFP CEO's and Managers often find themselves alone in trying to meet these challenges and Directors and Board Members often find themselves unable to provide the professional assistance needed to support Management.

This Conference brought together NFP Managers and Directors to hear how the NFP Sector is meeting these challenges through innovative, practical and affordable ways. Several prominent speakers presented key-notes at the event including The Hon. Scott Morrison, Federal Social Services Minister who emphasised the need for NFPs to innovate and become more self-reliant and The Hon Shayne Neumann, Shadow Federal Minister for Ageing and Indigenous Affairs, who focussed on the need for NFP Peak Industry Bodies to improve their national and united voice. This view was echoed by several presenters including Dr Gino Orticio, Sociologist and Researcher at the Queensland University of Technology. Other prominent NFP leaders and practitioners also shared how they have innovated their way around ubiquitous issues facing NFPs today.
